Speaking of National Day, what is most exhilarating is the People's Liberation Army marching in unison, chest out, heads held high, before Tiananmen Square; the rumbling, modern combat vehicles; and the various modern military aircraft flashing overhead.

National Day is a statutory holiday established by a country to commemorate the country itself. They are usually the anniversary of a country's independence, the signing of a constitution, the birthday of a head of state, or other anniversaries of major commemorative significance.
Our National Day is the great day when the People's Republic of China was proclaimed, set as the National Day of the People's Republic of China to commemorate this great moment.
Since the founding of New China, our country has celebrated National Day mostly through military parades and processions. Since the founding ceremony, our country has held a total of fifteen National Day military parades.
From the founding ceremony in 1949 to 1959, a total of 11 military parades were held.
In 1960, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council decided to implement the policy of "practicing thrift and governing the country diligently," reforming the system of National Day celebrations and implementing "a small celebration every five years, a large celebration every ten years, with a military parade held during large celebrations."
Subsequently, due to the Cultural Revolution and other reasons, no National Day military parade was held for 24 consecutive years.
In 1984, Deng Xiaoping proposed the resumption of the military parade, and in the same year, a grand military parade was held for the 35th anniversary of the founding of New China.
In 1999, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to hold a grand military parade for the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China, holding a large-scale military parade in front of Tiananmen Square.
In 2009, the 60th anniversary military parade of New China.
In 2019, the People's Army system was restructured, making its first concentrated appearance.
National Day is also a major way to showcase China's strength to the world.
Through holding grand military parades, to showcase to the world the military bearing, equipment, and the strength and determination of our People's Liberation Army to defend the country and protect the lives and safety of the people.
The people of the whole country can also see our country's military strength with their own eyes, enhancing national self-confidence.
